Smart lighting works via a wireless connection. This can be done via a Wi-Fi platform or Bluetooth. The difference is that Wi-Fi-controlled lights require an internet connection, with or without a bridge, to control the light via an app on your smartphone or tablet. Bluetooth lights only need a Bluetooth connection to pair devices.

The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K).

The colour rendering index (CRI) indicates how accurately colours are represented under a beam of light. The index goes from 1 to 99, with a CRI of 1 being the poorest and a CRI of 99 being the best possible. Be careful not to confuse colour rendering with colour temperature (K).

The light color indicates the color of the light emitted: white, colored, or UV. For many products in our assortment, the light is white, available in a range from very warm white to daylight white (expressed in Kelvin). With colored light, you have two options: 1. A single fixed color, such as red or green. 2. RGBW, which means you can adjust the light color at any time: white or colored.

Lumen (lm) is the term used to describe the total amount of visible light emitted by a light source. The higher the number of lumens, the brighter it is.

Many LED fixtures in our range have a built-in LED module, but there are also fixtures that are available excluding the bulb. In that case, we have a suitable LED bulb, LED spotlight bulb or LED fluorescent tube available for every fixture without a bulb.

Please note that certain fixtures can be mounted in multiple ways using the installation materials supplied (e.g. a LED bulkhead). Mounting is also possible using individually purchasable fixture accessories, such as a frame or suspension kit for a LED panel.

The cut out of a fixture differs from the dimensions and specifically refers to the size of the hole in the ceiling that is required to securely fasten the light source during installation.

The IP value indicates the degree of protection against the ingress of moisture and dust. The 1st digit (0 = not protected until 6 = completely dustproof) indicates the protection against dust. The 2nd digit (0 = not protected until 8 = protected against immersion) indicates the protection against water. Products with an IP44 rating are splashproof and products with an IP65 rating or higher are (completely) dustproof and waterproof.

The colour of the fixture can play a major role in the interior design of a room. You can opt for a neutral white design or a darker colour, such as black or silver, to make the light source stand out or even turn it into a decorative feature on its own.

A fixture with a tiltable design makes it possible to direct the lighting specifically at an object or surface. This can play a particularly important role in shops (putting a new collection in the spotlight) or galleries (accentuating works of art). It can also influence the purchasing behaviour or interpretation of visitors.

The shape tells you something about the design of a LED bulb or conventional bulb. This literally describes the design of the light source, for example a pear or candle shape. In some cases, the name of a product also tells you something about its size. A GU10 AR111 LED spotlight, for example, has a diameter of 111 mm.

Lighting with a sensor only turns on when it receives a specific signal. This reduces energy costs. The (built-in) sensors respond to darkness (twilight switch) and/or movement (motion sensor).
