RX7s Gas Discharge Lamps
A RX7s gas discharge lamp is a high pressure gas discharge lamp, filled with metal halides. Metal halide bulbs are relatively compact and emit an excellent light. Furthermore, thanks to the ceramic technology, the color is very stable. The RX7s gas discharge lamp has the shape of a transparent glass bar with caps on both ends of the bar. The RX7s light bulb has a built-in UV filter that prevents discoloration. This category includes the Philips MASTERColour CDM-TD, the Sylvania Superia CMI-TD and the Osram Powerball / Vialox.
The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K).
